For those of you who don't frequent the SHOForum and might be interested, I
thought I would give you a glimpse into what a LC 3.3L motor is capable of
when governed by a proper tune. The following figures were obtained from my
'95 ATX this past Saturday, August 12th, at the LSSHOC Dyno Day in Arlington,
TX with the following engine modifications:

3.3L V6 with 9.25:1 CR
3.2L ATX cams
Custom catless Y-pipe
TwEECer RT
PLX M-300 wideband

Additionally, all runs were performed under my guidance utilizing the
following conditions:

Third gear
Unlocked converter
87 octane gas
Factory airbox
Factory 55mm MAF
STP paper air filter

(click one of these for the dyno sheet)

Something interesting to note (other than the |ber-flat and oh-so-sweet A/F
line, which comes to you courtesy of a PLX wideband and a TwEECer RT) is that
this same vehicle produced the same maximum power figures (180whp and
180lb/ft) almost four years ago with the factory 3.2L (and a stock 9.8:1 CR)
using nothing more than a pig-rich Ted B. LPM and a similar paper air filter.
This might not be so noteworthy, except for the fact that a) the ambient
temperatures back in 2002 were almost 50F degrees cooler than they were this
past Saturday when the above-pictured dyno sheet was recorded, and b) these
new figures were obtained with a 9.25:1 CR 3.3L.

Needless to say, I am quite pleased with the power that my "low-compression"
3.3L is putting out. ;)

Unfortunately, I ran out of time to make a full WOT run with the converter
locked. However, if my previous street testing is any indication, I doubt that
a locked converter would have yielded any appreciable gain in total power
output.

Up next - a squeeze of juice while we await the delayed blower build-up.

Adam
