In a message dated 98-08-11 22:35:33 EDT, you write:

<< he easiest way to lower the front would seem to be the 1" lowered coil
 springs sold by Moss et al. Does anyone have experience with this method of
 lowering on a daily driver? Is the suspension geometry even close
 afterward? Will there be excessive tire wear?

Scott! Mellow out!
you'll notice there is a small flange where the crossmember bolts onto the
unibody.. it isn't there on the earlier ones. CHOP IT OFF! second, rip the
springs out and torch -say a half coil off and bend the spring end so it fits
the seat. you'll need to either try and find someone else who has done it and
remembers how many turns to chop or do it by trial and error. The lower A arm
should be about horrizontal when installed.
BTW you ARE installing the V8 bushings arn't you? also take your Anti Roll Bar
down to the local Iron monger and tell her to make one just the same but of
1+/-" steel. (NO nicks!)
You'll want to re-align the front when all's done. Put a bit more + Caster in
and move the lower A arm mtg holes out about 3/4" for some -- camber
Have Fun;
Michael*
