A better solution would have been to shorten the pushrods by the amount
milled off the head.  Rocker stand shims do give you back the ability to
adjust your rocker clearance with a milled head, but they mess up the
rocker geometry by changing the angle between the rocker arm and the valve
stem.  That often causes accelerated valve guide and rocker arm wear.
