Lew,

I have an original PB parts list and it also does not list the vernier type clamp, I am not sure of its date but I did look at it to see if one was listed at the beginning of this debate.

Peter.

Apparently, the mystery continues.

Does anyone have a PB parts list that might show the different clamp might
have been used on PB production at some time? My copy is late enough (1945)
but doesn't list the part separately.

For people joinging this thread late, see
http://www.roundaboutmanor.com/airline/distclamps.htm
And tell us the source of the clamp marked "?"

Cheers,
Lew Palmer

Jack , that's exactly the same clamp my PB has, too.

All MMMers,

My PA1875 came to me with it's engine modified to PB spec. and a
microadjuster on the distributor the same as marked, "?" in the photos.
The
adjuster is very worn and allowed the timing to change +- several degrees.

I
do not have a non-vernier adjusting type, I locked it in place with a
modified large area washer under the mounting bolt & clamping the moveable
part. I realize that this does not help determine the source of this part,
but, for what it's worth, I wanted to report another P type with this
microadjuster.
