The support fixing sounds the same as that on our cycle-guard J2.

As you say, the support is held by two bolts (5/16 dia I think) and the
third fixing is the double-ended threaded pin that holds the top of the
friction damper (3/8 or maybe 7/16 dia).

There is also a large hole in the chassis within the footprint of the
support to allow the sidelamp and headlamp wiring to enter the support tube
and run to the top of the guard.

It's likely that the PA is similar.
