When the late Henry Stone was in Australia to attend one of our National
Meetings in Perth W.A. he was asked what color the brake drums were painted
at the factory? Henry said, 'whatever made you think they were, painted?'
He then explained the brake drums were fitted in the condition they were
delivered to the MG works, and, if they were ever painted it would have been
the dealer at the point of sale who did this when the car was prepared for
sale, or display, on the shop floor. YMMV.
