The problem or failure of the racks, was that the tube separates or pulls o=
ut from the pinion housing. =20
With the post 2010 updated TR3 kit, the rack is mounted by the rack tube to=
a bracket spanning between the frame members with u-bolts similar to TR4-6=
. The pinion housing is not supported, only the tube. The earlier, pre-20=
10 Moss TR3 conversion kit as well as Bastucks new kits, used individual br=
ackets with the pinion housing being clamped on one side and the end of the=
tube on the other side. This design secures the housing to tube connectio=
n and doesn't allow the parts to separate. =20
Moss sells a rack safety securing kit, but it is only supposed to prevent c=
omplete separation and total loss of steering. =20
I haven't looked at the TR6 unit that Bastuck sells, but the TR3 part seems=
to be a quality item, compared to the others I have recently held in my ha=
nds from Moss. Much better. =20
Even the Bastuck rack was not expensive, ~$200.=20
Communicating with Bastuck was not easy.=20
