I've been able to use a small thin screwdriver to work them in. Put the 
end in the wrist pin hole and angle the blade to compress the ring.  
Hard to describe.  I go as far as I can by hand and then use the 
screwdriver to get more leverage.  There's got to be a special purpose 
tool too.
