On 2 occasions I had a leaking timing because of a small hole in the =
cover itself : once the hole had the shape of a thin line and was =
located near the rivets or spotwelds of the chain tensioner.

We run a narrow belt on both cars. In both cases the damper puller =
housing extends into the timing cover to mate up against the slinger =
washers. No problem using the stock oil seal. We have had some leakage =
out between the crankshaft spigot and the pulley. Perhaps via the Keway. =
and the fit between the pulley and spigot is a little worn, so we =
assemble it with some rtv. No leaks.
I wonder if you have eliminated the slinger washers, and if the joint =
between the spacer and damper coincides with the lip seal interface.=20
Merry Christmas!!!

I run a thin belt conversion and have an oil leak from the timing =
chain cover. New seal at rebuild 2 years ago. Leaked from initial =
startup but now getting worse. I know about speedy sleeves and might try =
that.=20

My question is this. Has anyone else experienced excessive leakage =
while using the thin belt conversion? The Moss instructions imply that =
the seal rides on the spacer installed behind the damper pulley.=20
Has anyone found a double lip seal replacement to the standard =
supplied seal and if yes do you have a reference P/N?

Thanks and Merry Christmas. The New Year has to be better than 2020.
