Keith & all

Thanks for the good advice, sounds like a bit of a juggling act with the
exhaust manifold / header. Will leave off the intake & carbs as an assembly
but have he starter on as well as the water pump.

Thanks again

  Rick,
Definatly save the intake and carbs till the engine is installed. The
problem I have with my 66 is that if you install the exhaust manifold first
the engine/manifold assembly will not fit. If you install the engine first
then the manifold will not fit. I have to hang the manifold on the engine and
install them at the same time but not bolted together. I understand that not
all have this problem. It depends on how big some of the welds are on the
original exhaust manifold.
I prefer to leave most of the accessories off for the engine install.
The fewer things in the way the better. I'd put on the water pump but leave
off the distributor and alternator.

  Keith & Roadster Community,

Once I get the brake lines & firewall cables ect back on the I will be
ready
to drop the motor back in after overhaul.

My question is with regards to the long block build up.

The short block is done & still on the engine stand. How far should I go
with the accessories, intake , exhaust manifolds, carbs ect before I drop
  the motor back in.

Have pulled this motor only twice before over the last 31 years, I am
planning on the tranny being attached of course. Would like to go as far
as practicable with the long block build up out causing headaches with the
  drop in.

  What do you guys recommend?

  Best Regards

  Rick G.
