Hey all-

This ougth to be an easy one.
I am in the process of reaasembling the calipers and their lines on my 69
2L. Before dissasembly I marked each cylinder with a center punch so they
would be reinstalled correctly. Everything is bolted back on as it was
before taking it apart but the lines (stock lines-they still had the plastic
coating on them) do not seem to correspond with the type of fitting in the
cylinders.

This is what I have right now-
1. Inner cylinders have bleeder valve facing up. The bleeder is screwed
into the tap that has a CONCAVE surface with an additional recess which I
assume is to seat the ball that the bleeder screws down on.
2. The tap in the bottom of the inner cylinder has a CONCAVE surface that
appears to be meant for a bubble flare.
3. The outer cylinders top tap has a normal CONCAVE surface meant for a
bubble flare.
4. The outer cylinders bottom tap has a CONVEX surface which appears to be
meant for a double flare but is only threaded half way down the tap.

#4 is where I am stumped. The lines I took off appear to be normal double
flares with ordinary ends. When I screw the lines on though, the line's nut
bottoms out on the threads and the line is loose, never getting near tight
enough for the line to seat with the cylinder. It would appear to me that
the nut on this fitting should have a machined end (similar to the nuts on
the bridge tubes and those used on the British cars).

Did a PO possibly put them back together wrong (the car had never had
working brakes since I've owned it)? I doubt this to be true as it was
evident they had not been touched for years, but still a possibility. Are
my cylinders put back on properly and do I have the correct lines?

Thanks in advance! Before this is over with I think I will have turned
every bolt on this car WITHOUT doing a frame off resto! (grin)
