 Paul,
 
 You may have an early (small flare) fender on one side and a late (large
 flare) one on the other. My 69 2000 came to me that way and it looked the
 way you describe.
 
 If your car and Don's have complementary mismatches you two could swap a
 fender and both be symetrical.

Paul,
OR, your car's body may need to be slid over.  Does anyone who has done a body
off restoration know how much play there can be in moving the body on the
frame?

Also, your car may have had frame damage at some point that was not
straightened out correcty. Anyone had their car to a frame shop? Do they have
specs for this old of a car to tell if it is out of alignment?
