I subscribe to various mailing lists and am a member of a few forums... I find
the forums to be incredibly difficult to deal with, especially when trying to
get questions answered that haven't already been posted. I can go months with
out logging into a forum, where I usually won't ignore an email list for more
than a week or so. The information on the email lists I subscribe to generally
have some value... whereas forums have a lot of garbage to wade through.

To me the obvious difference is the air of a forum vs an email list.
* email lists have people with names.
* forums have anonymous members with "handles".

IMHO the short answer is that the ba-autox mailing list has served us well and
will likely continue to do so into the future... regardless of the existence of
an b.a. autox forum.
