Brent,
You might check the transmission mount bolts.
I had a new FORD explorer that took service techs 5 months to figure out
what the noise was. They replaced lots of stuff (thousands of warrantee $) and
it took
3 different dealers and one really good "noise specialist" (that is all he did,
took rides and listened, what a job!) to take a ride with me and he was
able to identify it. It was just a loose tranny mount bolt and on left
hand turns with a slight dip it would make the thud/clunk sound.
