Ok, fine I'll come to bat for Katie here. She took three (!) fun runs in my
car after round 13, and didn't even come close to spinning. Which is quite
a bit better (or worse?) than what I was able to do with Eric's S2000 at Sac
round 9!:)
BTW, do either of you have ideas on how I should approach tire pressures on
my new Kumhos? On my first event on them Sunday, I started around 37 front
and just bled them down to about 34-35 where the amount of rollover looked
just right. Rears settled to 33, still not even close to rolling over.
This is what used to work for me on street tires, same technique here or
would I gain from running higher than what is necessary to prevent the
sidewalls from rolling over? I'm most worried about optimizing front end
grip, as the rear seems to have too much now. I realize pressures are a
black art and all this will change on Marina concrete. Here's my setup:
F 225/45/17 on 17x7.5" rims
R 245/45/17 on 17x8.5" rims (Kumho doesn't make a 40, didn't get 255/40 for
fear of massive understeer)
