In your original email you said you were getting it for "reliability and
power transfer." Better power transfer would be a competitive
advantage. You also said "The guys at Panoz said this would help
with autocrossing." I think you answered your own question.
A torsen LSD is a definite advantage in autocrossing compared to an open
diff.
