Certainly not well. It can be done, but is not recommended. As Andy noted, normal minimum rim width for a 185 is around 5". However, stock TR6 wheels are 5.5" and will bolt right up to a TR3 (except

When I bought one of my TR4s . . it had HUGE tires on the stock wheels. (I think TR4 steel wheels are the same as TR3? no? are they wider?) Anyway . . I asked the seller about it, and he said "yeah,
