Does anyone know of a simple way to identify what differential (3.7 or 4.1) is fitted to a TR4? I have checked all my sources and cannot find any way of differentiating (no pun) between the types usi

As old as these cars are, I would say those are the only reliable ways. The gear sets interchange, so what it started out with is no indication of what it has today. However, the calibration number

What does your tach read at 60mph? If a 3.7 it should read about 3000 rpm. If a 4.10 it will read higher. That's considering you have the stock size tires fit. I will send you an excel spreadsheet th

The 3.7 gears have a smear of seafoam( light) green paint on the pumpkin cover to indicate the gearing. Of course with partsgetting changed from car to car, it maynot be there anymore. I don't know w
