If you have the original air cleaner assembly, check the bimetallic plate (or at least the bimetallically controlled plate) thatdiverts the hot air from the manifold to the carb until the engine warm

Jeff, just a note...if you use an oil filter with a non-return valve in it, the light will go out MUCH faster....Wix 51084 will do nicely. Obviously, much less engine wear on startup. Above tip came
