If the metal cap is stuck, you can pry up the inner edge just enough to free the rubber diaphgram that goes across the opening. Then there will be enough clearance for the piston to come out. Try app

I have a metal bench and I put an oak board scrap on the bench and slam the rear end of the master cylinder on the board until it pops out the back enough to grab it with pliers. -- Original Message
