My guess is that after 20 odd years of use both sensor and guage are pretty inaccurate... (have you ever noticed the amount of scale arround the sensor when you change the thermostat) So I guess ther

I've got a 1975 spit 1500... Just removed the body to allow me to complete the rebuild.. Have had a quick look around the diff now that it is easy to get to... Looks as though there has been some oil

Two off the wall suggestions: 1)Always ride with a passenger, or a large sack of potatoes (depending on how many friends you have) in the passenger seat.. 2) turn the spring round! Cheers tim Departm
