Interesting thread. I have found that the belts in my 1970 were from a Toyota. The year was correct as the patch had them coming out of a 1970 car. What was the name of the race seat belt company?? I

You say that it is rubber grease and that it is compatible with DOT3 Fluid. Could this stuff be Glycerol? I do know it is used all the time as a water soluble lube in labs all the time.

Are the seats in the 1970 spitfire the same as in later spitfires, or more correctly the frames. My frames are shot, and I have access to seats out of other later cars(one is a '74 and one is a '76).
