I had a similar problem with my Spitfire 20 years ago! The first thing to do would be to replace the fuel filter(s). I did not see that in your email. Some Mk III's have a fuel filter near the tank

Thanks Joe! I wasn't aware of that! The 73 is the oldest Spit I have owned. Probably the last one as well, for no other reason than I have no plans to get rid of the one I have and don't need another

I seem to remember that now as well! That's exactly what happened to mine except the horn did not go off at all. Unfortunately for me, I did not realize at the time that there was a quick disconnect

Make sure the hand brake is released. (Sounds stupid but I did it once) It should only take a few blows with a rubber mallet to knock them loose even if they are rusted. Best Regards, Mark /// spitfi
