Hello all, As I chase out the little flaws in my MGB, I can't seem to rid myself of one of the worst. My gauges; gas, tach, and temp, still refuse to cooperate. I think it might be a bad ground, but

Dear Mike, Regarding your speedo, my speedo needle did the same thing, along with a whole bunch of other problems (gears etc.). Fortunately, just about the best speedo shop around is in Riverside. Th

Mike - the gas gauge ground only supplies the panel lamps, not the gauge itself. It has a 'stabilised' 12v (actually 12v switched on and off a couple of times a second) on one terminal and a resistan

I had noticed, when playing behind my dash, that my voltage stabilizer was somewhat loose. You could wiggle the thing up and down on it's mounting screw. I didn't tighten it because I was out of tim

The stabilizer must be horizontal, hanging from the tab. The screw must be tight because the stab's ground is through the case. However, the oil pressure guage doesn't get its power thru the stab. O

Is that correct. I thought the couple of years that used the electric oil pressure sensor ('70-'71?) used the stabilizer as the reference voltage to the pressure sensor. Can anyone clarify? Harlan.

Not according to my Bentley manual diagrams and my experience with my '69, which has the electric oil press sensor. My gas and temp sensors read high when my stab was upside down; oil press was OK.

I guess that explains my confusion. I must not have looked closely enough at the wiring diagrams in Bently. The diagram for "typical" '67 to '70 in Haynes with the electric transducer shows it the o

In confirmation, the factory workshop manual does indeed show a green going to the oil gauge and light green/green going to the other two. The Haynes shows one wire going to all three gauges, but it
