DrMayf, I use an air driven thin cutoff wheel with the hose held in a vise. . First I wrap with tape. I've used both masking and electrical with good results. I then clean out the hose with a Q tip.

DrMayf, I forgot to mention that I wrap the tape on the hose tightly, usually going one to two turns. The key to success is a clean cut. AND< I leave the tape on the hose. I've never had a leak. Terr

I use pretty much the same technique; With hose in vise, racer tape (not common DUCT tape) on the braid, cut hose with a cut-off wheel on a die grinder (chop saw on larger hoses) trim the "frizzies"

My style is to wrap hose very tight with one wrap of electrical tape. Cut hose with cutoff wheel at center of tape. Leave tope on and use pulling soap (or real soap) on fitting. Most I use have left

I can add a little as well. I have one of the shears that Grib mentions and it is a large wire cutter. It works extremely well. Sold as a braided hose cutter it is a little pricey, but well worth the
