Well I got to get in on this thread too.
I use silicone as a lubricant, I also use one wrap of electrical tape but we
have a set of line cutters that really make an excellent clean cut. They
look like a giant set of bolt cutters with short circular blades like a tree
trimmer. I forget what they cost but they're priceless. I drilled a hole in
a set of aluminum jaws for my vise a little smaller than the line size,
clamp the line in the bench vise and beat that little sucker in. It's a
tremendous sense of victory on a successful completion, (which is usually 1
out of 5 times).
