I had a similar problem that I traced to a leaking heater valve. The problem really showed up at high engine revs with the heater turned off. Eventually the valve would shoot a stream of water right

I thought that valve was by the firewall in the engine compartment. Well, at least it is on my '66. I figured the hose ran from that through the firewall and connected to the heater radiator. Is the
