You can't put a 30A fuse inline between the GM alternator and the battery. The alternator can produce 60+ amps so will blow that fuse. As for why it's not producing now, you might not have "excited"

The 30A was between the alternator and the Ammeter. Since then I have an additional wire going direct to the battery(unfused), but have not been able to test it. Regardless, the regulator should not
