- I would suggest if you do this, you check into a battery isolator. You can get these at RV stores and such. Without getting into the details, it is not a good idea to just connect two car batteries

- Do you have a good solid ground (10 ga wire) from the alternator ground stud to the frame? It's often missing, but you really need it. I assume you've checked all the connections and they are clean
