I believe the trunk hinges are made from pot metal then chromed. We are having problems affixing bolts into the trunk hinge that connects at the car body with the single hex fine bolt. They have been

I woulnt use JB weld for that, I just dont trust that it would hold, and there is a lot at stake if it does not. You could have an "insert" put in. Not quite the same as a helicoil, which BTW might

You can buy new hinges, made of better materials, from Sunbeam Specialties. I think they're around $80 a pair. I bought some. Well worth it. CNA

You all may know - but I didn4t - those hinges are a pair. I mixed left and right hand with each other. They rotated every time boot was opened and cut paint off. After a change all is ok again. Larr
