My TR needs a new clutch (bummer). I've decided to do it myself to save the money. My car has about 62K miles on it and I believe that this is the original clutch. I'm following the Bentley manual in

I understand your comments. However, I have removed all three bolts and the cap will not budge at all in any direction. There apprears to be no room to push the cap down as the cap is flush against

FYI, the cap has no J-shaped notches. Just a cap with 4 holes: 3 around the outside for the nut and adjustment screws and one on the top for the gear-shift to exit. I still believe that the cap is h

My Bentley manual shows the same thing, but my cap doesn't match (imagine that!). I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing something obvious like the cap was threaded on the inside or there
