Amen!
This year the Nationals were local to us. Yet we only entered 2 cars,
due to the stiff fees, among other things. At the regionals - 200 miles
away - we entered 3, because of the lower price. We have 8 Triumphs
total, all in 'good' original condition. Ya know - daily drivers,
dependable, all original, but not concourse. We have 2 kids that really
love their cars (Spider - 1st @ Ntnl's{ok, easy class}, GT6 - 3rd
Rgn:1st autocross). And in April will have a 3rd new driver. But to
choke down the $75 entry fee per car wasn't reasonable this year.
Sooo... I echo the vote for the freebie section! It was almost as much
fun scouring the parking lot for the 'real' Triumphs as it was looking
at the 'museum' pieces. If not free, how about $5 - $10 for the
non-concourse type cars. After all, they are the work horses that keep
places like TRF, etc. in business.
Thanks,
Sherry & Erik
