Bill, thanks for the reply. The last sentence brings up an
interesting point: During the car show, there were Triumphs
parked all over the place that were not in the show, probably
because their owners felt that they were "not good enough".
Maybe next year there needs to be more emphasis on showing
the cars in spite of the fact that they may be "works in
progress"? My club (RMTC) tries to do this by stressing
that nearly all of those concours winners started out as
something ranging from daily drivers to basket cases and
that getting ALL the cars out there and just talking to
people and being a part of the event is as important as
winning trophies. If they made it to the event in
the first place, they are good enough.
