Yep. I've certainly seen TR-2s beat a Healey off the line, but the Healey had
those great long legs.
It could easily reach 100 mph and stay there - that's how it got it's "100" tag.
It developed max. torque at around 2700 rpm.  It just loafed along.
Might get shot down in flames here, but TR'2s seemed to run out of puff a lot
earlier.

Some of those V8 conversions were very sanitary.
Carroll Shelby wanted to experiment with the "100" chassis.
BMC wouldn't play ball, so he approached AC.  The rest is history.

I remember Donald Healey being very interested in looking at those conversions
where ever he went.
