Hmmm . . There WAS a David Brown/Ferguson connection: Brown built the
first Ferguson tractor, the black model "A", thus providing a Ferguson-Aston
Martin/Lagonda connection . .sort-of?

Jowett Cars, who produced the "Jupiter model", was later absorbed into the
International Harvester group in some form or fashion.

Yep, That was the same Harry Ferguson group who did: Ferguson tractors, the
Ferguson 4 wheel drive Jensen and the Lotus formula cars drive train. The
tractors became Massey-Ferguson.

Ferguson involvement again: Standard built Ferguson tractors also at one
time and they used the Standard Vanguard auto engine in the Ferguson tractor
known as the TE 20 Ferguson built in England for the English market. The
Vanguard engine design was also the base for the various Triumph engines in
the TR2, TR3 and TR4.

There WERE BMC tractors which carried the BMC name, no car names that I can
recall.

Mercedes builds or has built some agricultural machines.

There was also a Ferrari tractor . . a very specialized narrow 4wd vinyard
tractor but I'm pretty sure there was no connection to the Ferrari CAR
company.

Mitsubishi has built tractors for a long time and I think they may build the
small tractors now sold by Case-International.

Crosley not only built the "Hot-Shot" but also the "Farm-or-Road" which had
implements for farming.

The Corvette people (GM) also built Euclid construction tractors and
equipment.

"Mechanix-Illustrated" or "Science-Illustrated" magazine once did an article
on an interesting engine swap: a tiny Kubota 3 cylinder into a Triumph
Spitfire! I remember that it wasn't too peppy but it got about 70 miles per
gallon!

That "Racing improves the breed" is a positive fact but "plowing" may
contribute also!
