We have been investigating new options for transporting our cars and I
think I should share with you a tidbit we just learned.

Consider your insurance coverage very carefully. A good friend of mine had
his entire rig stolen from the parking lot of the Quality Inn in Whitby,
Ont. the Wed/Thurs before the bis IMSA/PSC event @ Mosport. Dually, fifth
wheel, race car and everything else = GONE!
His insurance company is giving him a hard time with the claim. They only
want to cover the truck and nothing else.

Upon review of our coverage and trailering situation, we found that not
only were we inadequately covered but had we continued to trailer the one
car on an open trailer it was not covered due to the exclusion that the car
must be in a locked & disabled trailer and/or building. (Our agent is
currently having the underwriter further define the word disabled)

So, the moral here is don't think you are 100% covered. We do have the Cdn.
version of the "Bill Parish" insurance coverage for the cars and it is
within that policy that the specific exclusion lies. Check out your options
and coverage limits very carefully - you just may find out you aren't insured.

Happy be-lated New Year to all!

Maura
