After treatment with one of those rust converters, I have been rinsing with=
warm water and immediately putting the part in front of a halogen lamp to =
dry it. Wiping with alcohol is a good idea (thanks Frank!) If I understand =
correctly, many of the rust converters contains some organic solvents which=
may not be removed with only a water wash, and alcohol would help with tha=
t. After the rinse I usually wipe with DX-330 (degreaser and wax remover) b=
ecause I bought a gallon of it years ago.

I rinse before painting. Evapo-Rust leaves a film on the surface. That ca=
n help prevent flash rusting if you're not going to paint for a while, but =
I don't want that easily-soluble film between the paint and piece.
Spill a few drops of Evapo-Rust on the floor or bench and let it dry, and y=
ou'll see what I mean.
