No need for zinc additive with Valvoline racing oil. I use the regular =
, non synthetic 20w50 and change out every year. +1 on the Wix or Napa =
filter. They and the oil are on amazon.

Thanks everyone for the help. =20

=20

It appears the collective wisdom has led me to select Valvoline VR1 =
Racing Oil, a Wix filter, and carefully measuring 5 quarts of oil and =
adding as the dipstick requires. I feel much more informed about what I =
am doing, thanks to YOU.=20

=20

I suppose with the VR1 oil there is no need to use the TRF zinc =
additive, right?

=EF=BB=BF I agree with Dave regarding Fram oil filters. I have been =
running the Purolator L20195 filters in my TR4A for a few years now and =
also change the filter and oil each year. =20

Regarding oil, I have been using Brad Penn 20-59 wt. but that is =
strictly my personal preference. Generally speaking, people who own =
these types of cars change their oil and filters often enough that as =
long as you use an oil containing additional zinc you will be fine.

First of all, don=E2=80=99t use FRAM. Those filters are very low =
quality and don=E2=80=99t have a drainback valve.

=20

WIX, and NAPA (same filter) are excellent choices. 51516 or 51438. =
The NAPA number is 1516 or 1438. Also Purolator L20195 will work. the =

For oil you can get the Valvoline Full Synthetic Racing Oil 20w-50 from =

For the filter, if it is the same as the TR6 spin on, look up a 1996 =
Ford Mustang V6. You should get the Fram PH3600 and similar models. =
This info should let you pick your favorite brand.
