First of all, don=92t use FRAM. Those filters are very low quality and don=
=92t have a drainback valve.
WIX, and NAPA (same filter) are excellent choices. 51516 or 51438. The N=
APA number is 1516 or 1438. Also Purolator L20195 will work. the spin on a=
dapter for all TRs, MGA, MGB, etc all use the same filter.
For oil you can get the Valvoline Full Synthetic Racing Oil 20w-50 from adv=
ance auto; has the zddp you need. Unfortunately Advance Auto doesn=92t car=
ry WIX but they do carry the Purolator so you can get it all in one order w=
ith free shipping.

They have dropped the price $2! Free shipping for orders over $35, which i=

I have heard people say that you shouldn=92t use racing oil or synthetic b=
ecause blah blah blah. Been using it for decades in my cars and they still=
run strong oil pressure. I change the oil and filter about once a year.

For the filter, if it is the same as the TR6 spin on, look up a 1996 Ford M=
ustang V6. You should get the Fram PH3600 and similar models. This info s=
hould let you pick your favorite brand.

After a long hibernation, I am back in the British car world. I bought a 19=

I am doing some routine maintenance and need your help.
1. How many quarts of oil does a TR4 motor hold?
2. I installed the spin on filter adaptor. What is the best filter most peo=
ple use? I bought the TRF version, but it seems there is a better version a=
s I recall.
3. Is the oil weight used still 20-50, with the zinc additive from TRF?
