Roger -

I have installed Murph's kit (ersatz Audiovox) on a couple of cars and it
works great.  I did not add a vacuum canister (though one car already had
one for the brake booster).

Alas, neither was a TR but if I were doing one on the TR4 I think I'd look
at the ball on the lever on the cross shaft meets the back end of the long
link rod (near the firewall).
