Moral of the story: Wait for a good sale and buy EVERYTHING from the same
reputable guy at the same time. Having spent many years in the fabric &
upholstery biz I know that even the exact same product from the same
manufacturer can vary in shade between orders due to slight variances in dy=
e
lots.

Quoting from the Triumph Herald 1200 Spare Parts Catalogue:

"Note: Due to wide variation in colour combination, and possible deteriorat=
ion in storing, trim assemblies
are not held in stock but are manufactured when ordered. To facilitate the =
matching of trim assemblies,
a sample of the material should be sent together with the commission number=
 of the vehicle."

I'll grant you that the commission number might no longer be required, but =
the rest of the advice still
seems applicable! :-)
