I wanted to do a bit of homework on this before answering your post.
The VTR chapter liability insurance DOES cover timed events as long as an
insurance certificate is requested in advance from our Chapter Insurance
Coordinator. For example, the hill climb at the VTR convention a few years
ago was covered, as were all the events at the 2006 convention.
If an individual has a collector car policy or a regular auto liability
policy, these policies usually do not cover timed events. However, if a
chapter member participates in a timed event covered by VTR's liability
policy, they would have liability coverage while participating in that
event.
