Another spot I found was the carb shield that I think Joe Alexander sells,
because I couldn't find the connection Randall mentions. What I did was
drill a hole in Joe's shield to attach the spring. But! Careful, because
it's really quite quality stainless steel. I tried drilling after I
installed it with a flex drill, but didn't have a quality enough bit to cut
through. Fortunately (or unfortunately), I had to remove the shield anyway
for another reason, so used my drill press to do the deed. Until then, I
ran two springs to the linkage joint nearest the radiator.
