[TR] TR3a accelerator spring

Apologies if I already received an answer to this but I have not been able
to find it in my email....
In hooking up the accelerator linkage, there is a spring that connects from
the rod along the firewall to ... where?
It looks like it might hook on the bottom of the carb somewhere, or maybe to
the bolt that holds the intake to the exhaust manifold, but there is no
obvious spot that I can see.
