Drove one two years ago for about 50 miles on winding country roads - with
the top down. Was driven in the same car last week as a passenger for
perhaps 150 miles? Excellent build quality, everything works, it goes where
it's pointed and not a rattle anywhere. A reliable open two seater for those
who think they're getting a sports car of yesteryear (but aren't) and who
also don't want to bother with technologies. In all other respects, it was a
typical Jap product. Utterly predictable, boring, characterless and with a
*sameness* that seems to be shared among all Japanese cars, regardless of
make. Perhaps if the Japanese tried building their MX5's without any quality
control or effective inspection, they might start to become like LBC's and
lose that sameness?
