The problem with proofreading is that it costs money. Unless you can get
volunteers to proofread for free.
Come to think of it, we all proofread each other's posts everyday. And
sometimes we are brutal. Perhaps if an author wants to post paragraphs at a
time
on the list we will pick apart any and all flaws, gratis. And in a hundred
years or so we will have proofed the whole book. Maybe that will fit the
publisher's schedule.
But seriously, anyone offering to proofread a book for free (or at least the
cost of a copy) would probably be well received.
