The judge didn't want to hear my explanation. He cut it short.
You must file the small claims case in the defendants jurisdiction.
It may be too cynical of me, but it sure seemed the judge was biased towards
the defendant. It was a
small town and the defendant was a local merchant -- marina owner/operator with
lots of
friends/customers in town. Judges at that level are elected. Made me wonder if
he was more concerned
about reelection than doing his job. I was from out of town -- no votes from me.
