Drew,
An early TR4 should have flat bonnet buffer thingies.  I think they are long 
gone, NLS and made of unobtainium.  I have seen a few guys try to use the flat 
TR3 buffers.  I searched all the swap meets I could find to locate used flat 
buffers for my 62 TR4.
