Mike, a few years ago I had a similar melt down of some fusible link wires
when my wife's Dodge minivan radiator fan experienced rotor lock and sent
the amp draw way up and melted a significant number of wires either directly
or because they were bundled close by the ones which burned. I was bummed
out and my wife was well...........being an upset wife. Like I actually made
this happen!

After talking to my local garage repair shop he admitted that they often
would just go to the boneyard and find a car with the same wiring harness,
cut it out and splice it into the car being repaired. I though to myself
that I could do that and by late that after noon I had the van fixed with
all OEM type wires soldered into the system.

Maybe you can find one of these at a boneyard (breakers maybe) and do
something similar.
