If the parts were not fundamental to the car's safety or infringed the
prevailing technical standards for the forthcoming model year, there is
nothing wrong with this. However, to suggest or imply any manufacturer
intentionally 'used up' parts with the express intention of passing off a
car as one model year when it wasn't - or to deceive buyers, is grossly
unjust.

No implication of deception was intended Jonmac. Just relaying stories I
have heard. I seriously doubt that this person's 58-59 TR3 is a product of
left
over 58 fenders attached to a 59 tub, but at least where Sprites and Midgets
are concerned, stranger things have happened. There are several instances of
decrepancies in these models, especially when they moved back and forth between
round wheel arches in the rear, and differing grille treatments.

This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle, This earth of majesty, this
seat of Mars, This other Eden, demi-paradise, This fortress built by Nature for
herself Against infection and the hand of war, This happy breed of men, this
little world, This precious stone set in the silver sea, Which serves it in
the office of a wall Or as a moat defensive to a house, Against the envy of
less
happier lands,-- This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England.
